Duct that drains urine from the pronephros and connects it to the cloaca. It is thought that the pronephric duct may play a key role in the induction of the mesonephric (adult) kidney. The most anterior part of the pronephric duct shows distinct gene expression patterns and is sometimes referred to as DT2. [ http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8365571 XAO:CJZ ]
