A phenotype in which a spore germinates to produce an inviable cell that does not divide, has a larger diameter and volume than normal, contains two nuclei and more than one septum, and has an abnormal shape featuring a constriction at the center of the cell, corresponding to the cell division site. In some such cells, the diameter at the ends is much greater than in wild-type cells. [ https://www.pombase.org/gene/mah ]
